The STAND UP mural was painted live at the Airport Lounge in San Diego, CA on February 8th. The Glue Network teamed up with Jedidiah, Fallen Footwear, and GroundUP Movement. This event was held to help raise money and awareness for the San Diego Chapter of Stand Up For Kids and the issue of youth homelessness. All the proceeds from the event ($4k) plus the money raised from the sale of the above mural will go to support Stand Up For Kids and their tireless efforts to help kids who are living on the streets.
The mural was painted live by: Johnny Rodriguez, Kelli Murray, Ekundayo, and several other talented artists.

The Glue Network joined with Fallen Footwear and pro skateboarder Jamie Thomas and his creation, the "Rival lo-fi Africa" shoe with a purpose!Each pair sold will touch the life of a former child soldier by helping them cope with post-war psychosocial effects. So far the shoe has raised over $14,500.00!!!
This is an amazing opportunity to spread the work about the current situation in Northern Uganda. Rebels are kidnapping children and forcing them to fight against governemtn soldiers and their own communities.
Tell everyone you know about this uniquely designed shoe that is supporting World Vision and the Youth Psychosocial Care Center in Northern Uganda which rehabilitates children rescued from the war. Check it out and do your part to support the cause and sport some cool kicks!

HOW TO HELP: DONATION LINKS
Donate to the American Red Cross who is helping the disaster victims who have been evacuated. They will put the money toward whatever is most needed, whether it be food, clothing, supplies, etc. To donate, call 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish), or make a secure contribution online.
Habitat for Humanity in San Diego is currently collecting donations for the Firestorm Disaster Rebuild Fund at the SDHFH office located at 10222 San Diego Mission Road, San Diego 92108 or by calling 619-283-HOME or by clicking Donate Now button at the bottom of the page and designating Firestorm Disaster Rebuild Fund.
The Escondido Humane Society has issued a call for supplies, volunteers and monetary donations to assist with the care of the shelter's 600 animals. Call (760) 888-2200 or visit their website for more info. Donations can be sent to the shelter at 3450 E. Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA 92027; made online or made at any 1st Pacific Bank of California location. The account is under The Escondido Humane Society, Fire Fund.
The Poway Community Center is seeking monetary donations for Witch Creek fire evacuees being housed at the center. It no longer needs supplies. Make checks payable to the Poway Rotary. Donations are tax deductible. Mark your donation Poway Fire Victims and deliver to Poway City Hall, 13325 Civic Center Drive, drop it in the overnight box located in the parking lot, or mail to Poway Rotary, P.O. Box 184, Poway, CA 92074.
The Burn Institute is seeking donations for its special assistance fund for burn survivors and their families that provides temporary housing, transportation assistance and food vouchers, according to spokeswoman Diane Sparacino. For more information, call (858) 541-2277 or download the donation form from their website.
The Jewish Community has established the Jewish Community Disaster Fund for those affected by the fires. Checks can be made payable to the Jewish Community Foundation and sent to Jewish Community Disaster Fund, c/o Jewish Community Foundation, 4950 Murphy Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92123. Credit card contributions may be processed online.
Donate As A Business
Governor Arnold Swartzenegger announced Tuesday businesses can call (800) 750-2858 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. to make in-kind donations. Operators from the Governor's Office of Emergency Services will match donations to disaster efforts across Southern California.
Qualcomm Stadium - though Qualcomm has enough supplies and volunteers, they are still seeking corporate and bulk donations for the broader relief efforts throughout San Diego. Call (619) 236-6175 to reach a logistics team member.
The San Diego Blood Bank- Give blood at the following donation centers: 440 Upas St. in San Diego, 680 Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon and 1727 Sweetwater Road in National City. For more information, call (800) 4MY-SDBB or visit their website.

The Glue Network presented GREEN 4 GREEN: a Live Art Installation and Poker Tournament held at ASR (Action Sports Retailer) Trade Expo September 7-9, to inspire brands and attendees to take action toward a more environmentally conscious world. The Poker Tournament raised money for ASEC (Action Sports Environmental Coalition) and the live art installation raised funds for ISM: A Community Project.
GREEN 4 GREEN THE POKER TOURNAMENT:
Celebrity action sport stars anteed up at the Green 4 Green Poker Tournament, hosted by Absolut Casino in ASEC's room at ASR on September 8. Walking away from the Poker Tournament which took place on Saturday, September 8 were first place winner John Bebout from Planet Earth, second place winner Jake Brown from Monster Energy, and third place winner Donald Horn from Volcom. Other players included world-renowned surfer Kelly Slater and Snyder from Quiksilver; Matt Beacham and Jeff Ray playing for Truth Soul Armor; John Lee, Danny Kass and Mario DeMatteo from Monster Energy; Christian Hosoi from Soloman Fine Arts; Pat Gnoho and Steve Olson from Permacity Solar.
GREEN 4 GREEN LIVE ART INSTALLATION:
At the main Green 4 Green booth 22 top industry artists collaborated to create four 16 foot long by 8 foot tall murals showing an environmental timeline. The 1970s mural was painted by Ekundayo, Joshua Clay, KMNDZ, Seizer One and Zoso; the 1980s mural was painted by Brent Sandor, Dave Ross, Mark Murphy, Matt Stallings, and Plasticgod; the 1990s was painted by Bigfoot, Brandon Francis, Brent Harada, Jay Steiner, Marco Zamora and Tommii Lim, and the 2000 and Beyond painted by Eric Trine, Jesse kerr, Kelli Murray of Jedidiah, Mear One, Mike Maxwell and Patrick Martinez. The murals will be sold on ebay (details to come) and the proceeds will go to ISM: A Community Project!
ALSO:
A 15 foot tall metal tree sculpture created by Mark Gerardi was decorated with dollar donations to make the Money Tree grow green over the weekend. The donations were part of a raffle where a Vespa, an alternate form of transportation was given away as a prize (courtesy of Vespa of Oceanside. Attendees could buy shirts screen-printed live or other Green 4 Green merchandise, individually painted Harvey's bags and art pieces brought in from ISM as part of the Untitled Love Project. The Zoo York Institute and Keep A Breast Foundation also decorated areas.

On Sunday, thousands will gather form local universities, NGO's, government agencies, faith communities, artists and people like you as one to bring awareness, create networks and mobilize to end slavery.

LOVE Mural Painted at GvR

thegluenetwork.com partnered with etnies and flexfit to present the 8' x 32' LOVE mural at the etnies GvR (Goofy Vs. Regular) Skateboarding Competition. Through the sale of the finished mural and T-shirt sales, over $10,000 was raised for two non-profit organizations, StandUp for Kids and the Keep A Breast Foundation. The artists who painted on the mural were asked to convey their interpretations of the theme LOVE, and vinyl letters spelling the theme were peeled off so that the message would resonate on the mural. The artists included Steve Caballero, Andy Howell, Mike Kershnar, Russ Pope, Mike Maxwell, Ed Templeton, Donny Miller, Johnny Rodriguez, Hagop Najarian, Kelsey Brookes, Rick Maderis, Daniel Chang, Lance Mountain, Chris Pastras, Kelli Murray and Oscar Cortez.Venue: GvR (Goofy Vs. Each attending person was able to drop their ticket stub into a box for the charity of their choice which determined how the raised dollars would be divided. GIVE Mural Painted at ASR Trade Expo

thegluenetwork.com partnered with ASR to make social awareness a large part of the September '06 show. An 8' x 32' wall, constructed by Exhibé Corporation, was set up within the ASR (Action Sports Retailer) Trade Expo to generate support for social causes related to the action-sports industry. The wall became a blank canvas for some of the top artists in the industry who painted their interpretation of the theme GIVE, inspiring onlookers to give of themselves in unique ways. The artists included: The sale of the mural at the show and custom T-shirt sales at the event raised over $12,000 for the non-profit organizations Keep A Breast Foundation and SurfAid International. HOPE Mural Painted at The Lab

The HOPE Mural was thegluenetwork.com's first live mural painting to raise awareness for non-profit organizations and as a launch event for the Bridge website. Visitors to the site can upload content as art, video or photos in support of one of the featured causes. Each upload represents 1 mile and for every mile uploaded, $1 is donated by donors to a selected cause. The goal is to get enough miles to circle the globe, 24,902. The Mural event was held at The Lab in Costa Mesa and featured the following artists who painted their interpretations of the theme, HOPE: Caleb Aero, Blaine Fontana, Persue, Ginger Che, Joey Altobelli, Lucy McClauchlan, Matt Watkin, Paul Drohan, Toomer, Andy Howell, Christina Carlos, Hillary Amborn, Eduardo Valdivieso, Kelsey Brookes, Matt Gordon, Mike Kershnar, Adam Libby, Timothy McCormick. Film Screening

thegluenetwork.com hosted an intimate film festival to raise money for Heart for Africa and the Dear Francis Fund. Over $7,000 was raised with 150 people attending the screening of the films, Beat the Drum and Dear Francis. GLUE-05, A Party with a Purpose

The party that kicked off thegluenetwork.com got people together for a Party with a Purpose. Over 650 people packed the Old Wonderbread Bakery in downtown San Diego and raised over $18,000 for World Vision. Featured bands included The Stoats, Braddigan of the band Dispatch, Speech from Arrested Development, Trevor Davis, Cheeky, a local San Diego band, and DJ Poet Name Life from The Black Eyed Peas. There was also an art auction of pieces donated by industry artists including Shepard Fairey, a live T-shirt screening, a lounge and the non-profit group Invisible Children.Venue: The Old Wonderbread Bakery in downtown San Diego
